Module Variants

This miniature BLE module by InsightSIP is deployed to support sophisticate or baseline applications requiring Bluetooth 5 without Long Range connectivity. At 8 x 8 x 1 mm, ISP1507 series provide huge computing capability coupled with best-in-class battery life, with power consumption around 20-50% lower than previous generations of technology, making this Bluetooth Low Energy / BLE module a ready to use solution for most of IOT (Internet of Things) applications.

Fully qualified BLE stacks for nRF52 are implemented in the S112/S113/S132 SoftDevices which can be freely downloaded. ISP1507 can then be used in Central, Peripheral or both roles for BLE and for both ends of other proprietary protocols. nRF52 platform also provides extensive software support for ANT applications with S212 SoftDevices and dual ANT/BLE stack S332 SoftDevices.

Module Description

With integrated BLE and dual Band (5 and 9) UWB antennas offering global coverage with a single device, the ISP3080 is perfectly suited for RTLS, security bubble, access control and indoor positioning applications.

This module is based on Qorvo / DecaWave QM33110 single-chip UWB transceiver and nRF52833 Nordic Semiconductor 2.4GHz wireless System on Chip (SoC). It integrates a 32-bit ARM Cortex™ M4 CPU, 512 kB flash memory, 128 kB RAM as well as analog and digital peripherals. Despite the small size of 12 x 12 x 1.5 mm, the module integrates decoupling capacitors, 38.4 MHz crystal for UWB, 32 MHz and 32.768kHz crystals for BLE, DC-DC converters, RF matching circuits and two antennas in addition to the wireless SoCs. Low power consumption and advanced power management enables battery lifetimes up to several months on a coin cell battery.

ISP3080 differentiates from other module by integrating a multi band antenna in the package, to support both BLE frequency band at 2.4 GHz and UWB frequency band at 6.5 / 8.0 GHz. This is a new and unique concept developed by Insight SiP within a SIP package.

UWB communication is compliant to IEEE 802.15.4. Using a simple user interface controlled over the air by Bluetooth, ISP3080 offers utra precise localisation. For long range applications with typically few hundred meters distance, ISP3080 can be used in conjunction with an external UWB antenna.

BLE connectivity is compliant with Bluetooth 5.1, enabling direction finding and long range features over Bluetooth.

Module Description

Based on nRF5340 Nordic Semiconductor wireless SoC with two Arm® Cortex®-M33 processors and advanced feature set, the ISP2053 module is ideally suited for LE Audio, professional lighting, advanced wearables, industrial, medical, and other complex IoT applications.

Ultra-low power consumption and advanced power management enables battery lifetimes up to several years on a coin cell battery. Despite its exceedingly small size 8 x 8 x 1 mm, the module integrates decoupling capacitors, 32 MHz and 32.768 kHz crystals, load capacitors, DC-DC converters, RF matching circuit and antenna in addition to the wireless SoC. Combined with numerous Digital and Analog IOs, System Peripherals, high-speed SPI, QSPI, USB, up to 105 °C operating temperature, the ISP2053 is the most advanced fully certified 2.4 GHz low energy module available on the market.

The ISP2053 supports a large choice of wireless protocols:
- Bluetooth Low Energy Central, Peripheral, Observer and Broadcaster roles.
- Angle-of-arrival (AoA) and angle-of-departure (AoD) roles.
- LE Audio, high-throughput 2 Mbps, Advertising Extensions and Long Range.
- Mesh protocols like Bluetooth mesh, Thread and Zigbee that can be run concurrently with Bluetooth LE.
- NFC, ANT, 802.15.4 and 2.4 GHz proprietary protocols.

The ISP2053 software platform is fully compatible with the Nordic Semiconductor nRF Connect SDK, which is offering a complete solution that integrates the Zephyr RTOS, protocol stacks, application samples and hardware drivers.

The ISP2053 development kit provides a complete hardware solution for prototyping, testing and programming with the maximum flexibility.

Module Variants

This ultra-compact LGA module, 8 x 8 x 1 mm, is based on the ultra-low power nRF54L15 chip that offers a multi-protocol radio and advanced security features. With its powerful Cortex-M33 processor, expanded memory and new set of peripherals, combined with Insight SiP capability for best-in-class antenna design, this module provides the perfect solution for drop-in Bluetooth connectivity. It is also a direct upgrade to the ISP1507, ISP1807 and ISP1907 series with pin-to-pin compatibility. More information on typical application use cases for the different variants can be found here

In order to assist clients in developing their Bluetooth Smart solutions based on the ISP2454, Insight SIP offers Test Boards, proposed as stand alone PCBs, or included in Evaluation Boards which provide full hardware and software development environment. Used as stand alone solution, Test Boards also offer test points for all IOs and can be used in conjunction with Nordic Development kits and external J-Link programmers.

The module can replace multiple processors thereby reducing the BoM and dimensions of complex IoT nodes.

Module Variants

The ISP4520 offers a unique combination of two leading IoT radio technologies in one class leading miniaturized package. With integrated BLE and LoRa connectivities, this module offers the long-range capability of LoRa for data transmission over distance, combined with the high-throughput flexible service of BLE for a more local connection that can be used to carry out configuration, commissioning and update via smartphone or tablet applications.
 
The module incorporates chips from the leading semiconductor vendors for each technology – Nordic Semiconductor for BLE and Semtech for LoRa. Processing power is provided by the Nordic nRF52’s onboard M4 floating point processor, with 512K of flash memory available for advanced applications. The Semtech SX1261 (for EU and AS versions) or SX1262 (for US version) provide the LoRa radio function. Both semiconductors offer best in class low power consumption, coupled with an array of power saving features, allowing for multi-year coin-cell operation. The module integrates antennas for both LoRa and BLE transmission, thus allowing this device to be a pre-certified complete radio and application core solution, requiring only external sensors, or connection to a customers existing device. The module is supplied with a combined BLE and LoRaWAN stack.
